R Systems Receives Intel Capital Investment

NOIDA, India and EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. -- Jan. 10,2001 -- R Systems International Ltd, a global provider of IT professional services, strategic outsourcing and turnkey project solutions for mid-sized and new economy businesses, announced today that it has received an investment from Intel Capital.

The investment will help R Systems fund the development of solutions for independent software vendors (ISVs), Internet service providers (ISPs) and application service providers (ASPs) based on Intel's IA-32 and IA-64 bit architecture. R Systems will also use the funds to establish four IA-64 (Itanium") competency centres. R Systems is a global information technology services company specializing in meeting the needs of customers in five application segments: mobility, eGovernment, eReach Services (B2C), eConnect Services (B2B) and software development services. The company offers on-site consulting and customized software development for its customers.

Intel Capital invests in companies that accelerate the Internet economy's growth. As more businesses move online, the need for powerful processors such as IA-64, and supporting software to handle the transaction volume increases.

"We are excited to be a part of an emerging technology of this magnitude," said Rekhi Singh, president and chief executive officer of R Systems. "This investment and the ability to work with Intel's Itanium microprocessor makes it possible for us to develop the next generation, media rich, processing intensive applications our customers demand."

"Intel Capital invests in companies like R Systems that are actively growing the Internet economy," said Avtar Saini, Director of South Asia, Intel. "Powerful software tools and hardware that enable companies to optimize their e-Commerce capabilities are at the heart of that economy."
