Dotcast, Inc.*, a private company based in Silicon Valley, is building a high-speed wireless broadband network capable of delivering more than 200 billion bytes of digital content daily to virtually every consumer and business in the United States. Dotcast plans commercial rollout of its network in early 2002, following market and technical trials this year.
The Dotcast Digital Network* will provide companies in a wide range of industries a low-cost, new distribution channel for delivering massive amounts of their digital content to consumers and businesses. Dotcast owns proprietary technology that uses the nation's existing television broadcast infrastructure to overcome technical obstacles that make the Internet an impractical network for delivering high-quality streaming media, broadcast-quality video and audio, and other large data files.
