Hiran Marques, CEO
48, Chief Executive Officer and Director, has a Master of Science degree in computer engineering from North Carolina State University at Raleigh. He worked for IBM in several positions in Brazil and the United States, including a research and development position at IBM�s Advanced Maintenance Development Laboratory in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 1987, Mr. Marques co-founded Telemikro Ltda., a Brazilian company that developed, manufactured and marketed the first Brazilian predictive dialing telemarketing system, which became the industry standard in Brazil. Mr. Marques is a co-founder of Telesisa, the company that pioneered voice mail in Brazil. Under Mr. Marques' leadership, Telesisa became a leading provider of digital voice processing products and network management products. In 1997, Telesisa formed a Brazilian joint-venture with Lucent Technologies, named Octel Brazil, to develop the local voice mail market.
