Intel Capital portfolio companies benefit in ways that go beyond Intel's financial contribution. Intel brings significant technological expertise around the Internet, computing platforms and networking, and has the ability to work with other industry participants to help foster technology standards. In addition, Intel may diffuse Intel-developed technology to a portfolio company. Intel also offers a worldwide marketing presence. Within the Intel Capital portfolio, there is the opportunity to network with a diverse range of companies whose technologies or business models may be complementary.
Intel also gains in ways that go beyond immediate strategic and financial goals. By working with companies that are "exploring the art of the possible," Intel engineers are exposed to a broader set of ideas that will impact the kind of products and technologies that we develop in the future. This can benefit Intel, companies in which we invest and, ultimately, the customer who uses our products.
