Steelscreen: Overview

Founded in October 1999, Steelscreen is a Swedish Internet company set up by four steel making and telecom entrepreneurs who want to revolutionize European steel trading. The goal: To establish a European, Internet-based market for the metals business that accelerates the buying process, cuts trading costs, and improves links between suppliers and buyers.

To do this, Steelscreen assembled a management team with extensive experience in the metals industry. It also recruited consultants familiar with existing supply-chain projects in the metals business, based on electronic data interchange (EDI).
