"All states and schools will have challenging and clear standards of achievement and accountability for all children, and effective strategies for reaching those standards." Educator, U.S. Department of Education
Standards in education are put forth by a range of organizations and take a variety of forms, from subject area knowledge to specific skills. While educational standards are not new, they have become more of a priority in recent years. Most states now have standards or curriculum frameworks that articulate learning objectives.
At the same time, there is growing consensus that simply providing technology is not sufficientit must be used effectively. The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has recently published technology standards for both teachers and students.
With these trends in mind, we provide links to individual state standards as well as to the ISTE NETS standards, additional articles, and reports.
