History and Details
The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) is the world's only international pre-college science competition representing all life sciences. It provides more than 1,200 of the world's best young scientists from more than 40 countries with an opportunity to innovate, share ideas and showcase their cutting-edge projects and inventions. Student rewards total over $3 million U.S. in awards and scholarships.

This is Intel's sixth year as title sponsor of the Intel ISEF. This effort is part of the Intel® Innovation in Education initiative to prepare today's teachers and students for tomorrow's demands in math, science and technology.

The 2002 Intel ISEF
With research projects in hand, hundreds of high school innovators descended on Louisville, Kentucky for this year's Intel ISEF on May 12, 2002. The students participated in a week of activities including judging interviews with experts in their field of science, meeting Nobel Laureates and Intel Fellows, attending fun events, visiting Louisville attractions and making new friends from around the world. On May 17, students won over $3 million U.S. in awards and scholarships.
