What qualifications did you need?
I have a master's in engineering. I have experience in programming, network operating system and Kernel* programming. My job requires patience to analyze/debug inconsistent problems.
What is a typical day like at Intel?
I work in the Network Communications Group. I write UNIX* device drivers, do driver optimizations and analyze different hardware features to get good network I/O performance using Intel� Gigabit adapters.
There are new things to do everyday. Currently, I have been researching various opportunities to enhance our hardware performance. I have also been researching for future network controllers and making sure that upcoming platforms can support these new devices.
What other types of jobs have you had at Intel?
I worked in the Intel Business Video Conferencing group before joining the Network Communications Group. Working at this group was like working at a start-up. Customer orientation/quality was very important and it gave me good perspective on the challenges of business versus technology.
What is the best experience you've had while working at Intel?
My current job is the best experience so far at Intel. I like the way it requires me to do hardware debugging, research and analysis for enhancing performance and solving current performance problems. No two days are the same and I am learning something new everyday.
What do you do for fun?
In summer I like swimming, scuba diving, off-road biking and camping. During winters and on rainy days I enjoy bowling and diving.
