Athens
Our Athens office serves as a sales and support centre for Greece. Employees are focused on working with local PC manufacturers, our distributors and the software industry. Our operations in Greece are part of our Europe - Middle East - Africa Sales and Marketing organization.
Athens is essentially a village that outgrew itself, spreading outward from the original settlement at the foot of the Acropolis. Back in 1834, when it became the capital of modern Greece, the city had a population of fewer than 10,000. Now it houses more than a third of the entire Greek population- totaling more than 4.3 million residents. A modern concrete city has engulfed the old village and now sprawls out covering almost all the surrounding plain from the sea to the encircling mountains.
Patras
Intel's operations in Patras are part of our Optical Products Group. This team is dedicated to the development of state-of-the-art, high-speed optical network solutions. Employees are focused on design and development of optical system solution demonstrators, design and implementation of evaluation systems, and development of high-speed testing toolsets.
Patras is the capital of the prefecture of Achaia and Peloponnese and the third largest city in Greece with 250,000 residents. It is located on the eastern end of the Patraikos bay, 213 km from Athens, and forms the country's gate to the West, its harbor connecting the whole country with the ports of Western Europe.
