Frank Spindler is Vice President in Intel's Corporate Technology Group and Director of Marketing. In this role, Spindler co-leads the organization responsible for industry technology programs including the Intel Developer Forum, standards group coordination, international programs, and technology marketing.
Spindler joined Intel in 1982 as a Field Applications Engineer in the Santa Clara, California sales office. He progressed through a number of sales management positions before being promoted, in 1993, to processor Marketing Director. In this role, Spindler was responsible for the introduction and marketing of the Pentium® processor family, including the introduction of Intel's MMX" media enhancement technology. Prior to assuming his current position in May 2000, Spindler served for three years as Vice President and Director of Marketing for Intel's Mobile Computing Group.
Before joining Intel, Spindler was a design engineer at IBM from 1978 to 1982. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1977 and 1978, respectively.
